Janos Horvath

December 28, 1928 ~ October 10, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Janos Horvath, of Cheshire, Connecticut passed away on October 10, 2017. He was born in Hungary on December 28, 1928. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Piroska (Rubaj) Horvath.

Janos and Piroska married in Budapest. He moved with his family to England in 1956, where he worked as a tailor in London. In 1969 him and his family relocated to New Haven, CT and opened Piccadilly Tailors. Janos and Piroska resided in Cheshire since 1995. Janos loved to garden, grow his own vegetables, to visit the orchard to pick the seasonal fruit and watch his favorite westerns.

Janos will be remembered as a devoted and dedicated father by his children, Piroska (Sandor) Fodor of New York, Janos Horvath, Jr. of Branford, and Eva (Edmund) McCarroll of Orange; loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Erika Fodor and Derek Fodor of New York. Janos adored his family and was most happy when his children and grandchildren were all together. They were his greatest joy. He was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.

A mass is scheduled for October 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 N. Brooksvale Rd. Cheshire CT. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Janos’s life.
