UNIONVILLE — Beatrice (Bea) Pettinicchi, 95, formerly of Prospect, Conn., recently of Unionville, Conn., died on Jan. 28, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family at UConn Health Center.
She is survived by her three children, David Pettinicchi and his wife, Ann Marie, of Prospect, Anne-Marie Dallaire and her husband, Lucien, of Farmington, and Daniel Banawicz of South Glastonbury. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Jeffrey Dallaire of Portland, Ore., and David Dallaire, his wife, Yasuyo, and three great-grandchildren, Sakura, Andre and Brian Dallaire of Seattle, Wash. She was predeceased by her husband, John, and her granddaughter, Nicole Pettinicchi.
She accepted, unconditionally, everyone into her home, and into her life, and kept life simple for those of us dealing with complexity, good and bad, every day. She passed away much loved, with no regrets and with nothing missed.
Most of her life was spent taking care of children. She welcomed into her home more than 25 foster children, some who had been abandoned and abused. With love, kindness and good food, she nurtured them until they became happy, healthy children who were adopted into loving homes.
The family would like to thank her good friend, Joanne Ray, for all the good times she brought into her life, and her neighbors who helped her feel safe and secure in her home.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
