Mystic - Diane (Welles) Porretta, 57, passed away on Dec. 8, 2012, at Pendleton Rehab Center in Mystic.
She was born on Oct. 13, 1955, in New York, the daughter of the late Martha and Edward Welles of Mystic. Diane graduated from Robert E. Fitch Senior High Shool in Groton and worked for many years at Electric Boat.
She was also predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, Wilhemina and Martin Porretta.
She is survived by John Porretta; her daughters, Carmen and Cristin Porretta; sister, Sue Ford; brother, Edward Welles; and many nieces and nephews.
A reception to celebrate the life of Diane Porretta will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, at Tony D's Restaurant, 92 Huntington St., New London. Everyone who knew and loved Diane is welcome to attend.
