Edward Houde, 82, of Meriden, formerly of Wallingford, passed away July 20, 2020. He was born in New Haven on April 15, 1938, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Houde.
Edward was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 58 years, Edith. He was the happiest spending time with his wife and the bond they had was filled with tremendous kindness and love.
Edward is survived by his daughter, Laura Corvino and her husband, Christopher of Southbury; his sons, Edward J. Houde Jr of Wallingford and Robert J. Houde and his partner Joe of Hamden. His grandchildren, Alexandra and William Neves; Christopher Corvino and his fiancé Audrey; and Amber Houde; and great grandchildren, Ava and Jackson Neves. His sister, Lois McClure and nephew Ronald McClure and wife Mary; and Patricia Houde and many relatives and friends were also a special part of his life. Edward is fondly remembered by all those who were blessed to have him in their lives.
Edward started his business, Action Services and enjoyed being a small business owner. After his retirement, he continued to travel with his wife and friends to one of their favorite vacation locations, Aruba. Edward was an avid Red Sox fan as well as a reader and crossword puzzle champion; he never missed a day of Jeopardy (he actually participated in auditions for the show). He was a great listener and would always be supportive and provide guidance in any way he could.
Burial will be private where he will be laid to rest with his loving wife at St. John's cemetery in Wallingford.
In memory and honor of Edward, a random act of kindness would be appreciated.
