Bethlehem- James Edward Moody, 62, of 222 Crane Hollow Rd died suddenly of complication from a brain aneurysm on March 23, 2010, with his two sons at his side.
James (Jim) was born in Danforth, ME, on June 18, 1947, the son of the late Helen Clark and the late Paul Moody. His step-father was Mr. Kenneth Clark. He was previously married to Patricia Lutkus.
James served 4 years in the United Sates Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, earning him many medals and commendations including the Vietnam Service Medal and the National Defensive Service Medal, among others. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1969.
James graduated from Post College in 1978. He worked at National Filter for many years. He retired from sales at Raymour and Flannigan Furniture in 2008. He lived most of his adult life in the greater Waterbury area.
James loved his family, and spent many years coaching his sons’ sports teams. He was a Notary Republic, and served on the Zoning board in Prospect for several years. He also enjoyed spend time at Cape Cod, MA.
James is survived by his two sons, Shawn Moody of Bethlehem and Benjamin Moody of Prospect, three grandsons, five brothers, Paul Moody, Kenny Clark, Tom Clark, Richard Clark, and Timothy Clark, and three sisters, Marie Deri, Suzie Bitwood, and Robin Orface, all of Connecticut. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 30, from 3-5pm. at The Brookside Crematory Chapel, 453 Christian Lane, Berlin, CT. For further information visit: www.newenglandcremation.com.
