EAST HAVEN - Mary Jane Bates, 69, died December 10, 2009 at her home. She was the wife of the late John H. Bates.
She was born in Columbus, OH on June 24, 1940, a daughter of the late Clyde and Della (Johns) Simmons.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary June Bates Westman; her brothers, Robert Simmons and Anthony and Michael DeCrescenzo; a sister, Joyce Simmons and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Donald and Maxwell Simmons.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 19,2009 at 1 p.m. at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 1230 Townsend Ave., New Haven, CT. The Cremation Society of New England has been entrusted with the arrangements. Online guestbook and directions are at www.NewEnglandCremation.com
