Michael Jason Allen, 69, of Wallingford, departed this life on March 22, 2013 at the VA Hospital in West Haven, CT.
Born in Norwalk, CT on August 6, 1943, he grew up on the Shortell homestead in Wilton. He served on flight deck of the aircraft carrier Randolph during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1966. Settled for a long while around the Washington, CT area surrounded by great friends and developed his business as a residential and commercial painting contractor. Later on, he joined and enjoyed his colleagues of the Lowes in Wallingford for several years as the paint department manager. He loved the outdoors, hunting & fishing for trout, growing unique plants, special vehicles, spicy food & BBQ, exotic places and left-turn races plus just about everyone. A Good Man.
He is survived by his brothers Lawrence Allen of Naugatuck and Roman S. Mrozinski of Wallingford plus a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, from an extensive family base of Allen’s, Mrozinski’s, Shortell’s, Pawloski’s, Travers, Byrne’s and Kennedy’s.
A military graveside service will be held at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Durham Road in Wallingford on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 at 1:00 PM with a celebration of Michael's life and legacy at the Wallingford Rod & Gun Club on 411 North Branford Rd., Wallingford, CT.
