Noreen Silver

New London - Noreen Bridget (Egan) Silver, 71, of New London, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012, at Beechwood Nursing and Rehab Center with her daughter Heather at her side.

She was born in New London, on April 24, 1941, the daughter of Irving S. and Margaret (McCarthy) Egan. She attended St. Mary's and St. Bernard's Schools. Noreen was a member of St. Mary's Church and the New London Senior Center where she volunteered and taught computer classes.

She is survived by four children, Heather O'Connor and husband, Daniel of Preston, Shawn Silver of Minneapolis, Minn., and Duncan and Michael Silver of Utah. She had six grandchildren, Ryan, Margaret (Maggie) and Michael O'Connor of Preston and Michelle and Caroline Silver of Utah, and Sophie Silver of Texas. She is also survived by two sisters, Patricia Bolles and Andrea Baldi; and nieces, Diane Baldi and Lisa (Baldi) Cawley.

Noreen was an avid reader, loved to travel, loved her cats and all animals. She had a quick wit and infectious sense of humor. She was also a friend of Bill's for over thirty-five years.

Noreen and her family were very grateful for the excellent care she received from the dedicated nurses, aides and staff at Beechwood and for the care and comfort of the Beacon Hospice volunteers.

Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Mary's building fund, Beacon Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice.

There are no calling hours. Burial is private. A memorial mass will be scheduled in the near future.
