Pamela Gillmor

July 15, 1943 ~ September 15, 2017 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Pamela Van Zandt Gillmor, 74, beloved sister and friend, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT. She was born on July 15, 1943 in Manhattan, NY to William and Mary-Louise Gillmor.

Pamela was a long-time resident of Norwalk, CT and active in area singing groups, happiest when performing, singing Broadway songs and American standards. For more than 20 years she was a member of the Yankee Maids (currently Harmony on the Sound), a barbershop chorus, and co-authored Double Talk, a musical play performed by the group. With the Connecticut Choraliers beginning in 2002, Pamela entered the show chorus world, complete with costumes and skits.

More recently, she had sung with the Park Street Singers, an all-women group performing at senior centers and nursing homes, with Pamela providing choreography for some numbers, much to the delight of their audiences. She had also performed in shows put on by the Connecticut Playmakers, including Gershwin: Our Love is Here to Stay, A Day…A Night…And Cole Porter, and Master Class Cabaret.

Pamela is survived by her three brothers: William, Reginald, and Christopher Gillmor.

Memorial services will be held at St. Luke's Parish, 1864 Post Road, Darien, CT on Saturday, October 28 at 12:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made in Pamela's name to the American Cancer Society.
