Partha Chaudhuri

Partha S. Chaudhuri, 69, of Stony Point, NY, died on August 24, 2012 at his daughter's home in Stamford, CT. Partha is survived by his wife, Liene Chaudhuri, his daughter and son-in-law Anita and Tony Meconiates, of Stamford, CT, his son, Neil Chaudhuri, of Stony Point, NY, and his grandson, Alexander Meconiates.

Partha was born in Patna, India on October 24, 1942 to the late Charu Chandra and Bela Chaudhuri. He earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology at Kharagpur in 1967. He left India to pursue his master's degree at the University of Toronto on a scholarship. Partha and Liene met at the University of Toronto in 1968. After Partha completed his PhD studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, they were married in Hamilton, Ontario on November 2, 1974. Partha worked as a mechanical engineer in the paper industry for 26 years.

Partha was a resident of Stony Point for 34 years. He was very dedicated to his family and put much of his time and energy outside of work into raising his children. Since retirement twelve years ago, Partha enjoyed investing, jogging, watching soccer and visiting his home in Naples, Florida.

Memorial services will be private, but the family will receive guests who would like to pay their respects at 71 Wyndover Lane, Stamford, CT on Sunday, September 2nd from 2pm to 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
